The JUNZEN 00 is an automatic watch that sits at the intersection of refined and everyday.

The hand-polished case catches light without demanding attention, and the Pale Blue Fumé dial shifts character throughout the day — revealing its gradient and depth indoors, opening up to a bright, even luminosity in sunlight.

Today I got my Junzen watch, and it's now on my wrist. I must say, what a beauty! Your craftsmanship is marvelous. I adore all Japanese for your seriousness of detail, and your watch is certainly a great proof of that attitude.

White Silver

A clean, versatile dial that reads white in some light and silver in others — never quite the same twice.

Pale Blue fumé

A light blue base darkens toward the edges with a subtle gray gradient. The gradient is most visible in low light, where the tonal shift from center to edge becomes clear. In bright conditions, the whole dial opens up and feels uniformly luminous.

Component details

Hand-polished case

Each case is polished by hand at a long-established Japanese workshop. The finish speaks for itself — smooth, precise, and built to hold up over years of daily wear.

The material is SUS316L stainless steel: corrosion-resistant, recyclable, and made to last.

Sunray-finished dial

Fine hairline patterns radiate from the center of the dial, creating the sunray finish that gives the watch its presence. The result is a surface that catches light without harsh glare — legible and refined in any setting.

The Pale Blue Fumé dial takes this further with a gradient finish that reveals its full depth in subdued lighting — produced using equipment that had long been out of use before we brought it back for this project.

Metal frame

The inner frame is metal — not visible, but you'll feel the difference. It adds a balanced, substantial weight on the wrist and keeps everything aligned precisely over the long term. The surface is treated to prevent corrosion even where you'll never see it.

Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal

Sapphire crystal on both the front and caseback. Highly scratch-resistant and built to stay clear after years of everyday use.

Miyota Cal.9039

Powered by the Miyota Cal. 9039 — a thin, 4Hz automatic movement and one of Miyota's higher-end calibers. All components are manufactured in Japan.

A serial number with a time motif

Made in Japan

Nearly every component of the JUNZEN 00 is made in Japan — the case, dial, hands, sapphire crystal, and movement are all domestically sourced and produced. Excluding the strap, over 98% of the watch by component cost is made in Japan. The only exceptions are minor parts like gaskets that aren't available from Japanese suppliers.

Japan's small watchmaking workshops, the ones that do the hand-polishing and detailed finishing work, have nearly vanished.

We started JUNZEN to keep sending work to these craftspeople. It's not the easiest way to make a watch at this price, but it's the reason we exist.

Select a Strap

Choose a strap based on your wrist size. The lug width is 20mm, so the watch is also compatible with most standard aftermarket straps.
